The traveler who recites this psalm and his prayer and his Holy Name JAH, will be protected against any danger for twenty four hours. Recite the Psalm and its prayer early in the morning with adoration.
The prayer is as follows:
May it be in your holy will, Oh JAH, JENORA, to make my journey prosperous, to lead me in happy paths, to protect me from all danger, and to return me safe and sound to mine for the love of your powerful and lovely name. Amen!
Psalm 17
17.1
Prayer of David. Eternal! listen to righteousness, be attentive to my cries, listen to my prayer made with lips without deception!
17.2
May my righteousness appear before your face, let your eyes behold my integrity!
17.3
If you search my heart, if you visit it at night, If you experience me, you will find nothing: My thought is not other than what comes out of my mouth.
17.4
At the sight of the actions of men, faithful to the word of your lips, I stand guard against the way of the violent;
17.5
My steps are firm in your paths, My feet do not waver.
17.6
I call on you, for you hear me, O God! Incline your ear to me, hear my word!
17.7
Mark out your loving kindness, you who save those who seek refuge, and who by your right hand deliver them from their adversaries.
17.8
Keep me as the apple of the eye; Protect me, in the shade of your wings,
17.9
Against the wicked who persecute me, Against my bitter enemies who surround me.
17.10
They shut up their bowels; They speak haughty words in their mouths.
17.11
They are on our footsteps, they are already surrounding us, They are spying on us to bring us down.
17.12
He looks like a lion eager to tear apart, A lion cub lying in wait in its lair.
17.13
Arise, O Lord, meet him; overthrow him! Deliver me from the wicked by your sword!
17.14
Deliver me from men by Your hand, O Lord, from men of this world! Their part is in life, and you fill their womb with your goodness; Their children are full, and they leave their excess to their grandchildren.
17.15
For myself, in my innocence, I will see your face; As soon as I wake up, I will be satisfied with your image.
