Even if you start off your day with a cup of coffee and a meaningful morning prayer, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the chaos and stress of your daily routine. By the time you return home at the end of the day, it's possible you totally forgot the intentions you set for yourself upon waking, which is why it can be helpful to say a night prayer to God before you go to sleep. Whether you're looking to ease your mind, erase your worries, or find the strength to finish out your week, the best night prayers will help you end your day on a high note, no matter where the day's events might have taken you.

Jesus knows exactly what you need, at the exact moment you need it. That's why you should use your evening prayers as a way to give thanks to him — especially if it happened to slip your mind earlier in the day. Before you know it, reciting goodnight prayers will become a nightly routine, and you’ll be able to fall asleep knowing you aren't alone.

For the sweetest of dreams, try saying this night prayer After a difficult day before you hit the hay.

Prayer:

Father,

I can barely lift my eyes to You.
It's all I can do to cry out for help.

Please extend Your grace to me this day.
Help me to see that You are in this and that You are with me.
Help me to remember that You are not surprised or taken off guard by the events of this day.

Forgive me for my fears about this day.
Forgive me for forgetting that You are with me.
Forgive me for how I have complained and muttered about how hard this day has been.
Forgive me for forgetting who I am because of what Your Son, Jesus Christ, has done.
Forgive me for failing to remember the glorious truths and riches I have because of the gospel.

Father, hear my prayer.
Grant me gospel hope in the midst of this hard day.
Help me to cling to Your grace, Your wisdom, and Your strength. Amen.

to God

To God, the being above all, nothing is impossible. Everything is possible with him. Whatever difficulties you find yourself in, trust in him, have faith. Pray to him and he will answer you.

Prayers addressed directly to God do not go through any intermediary. He receives them as they are. Some people prefer this type of prayer where they speak, in their hearts, directly to God.

God is present everywhere. Within us and without us. Even when we think we are alone, he is there. He sees us, he listens to us. He knows us better than we know ourselves.

Like a good father with his children, he is compassionate, merciful and always ready to forgive us our failings and sins.

Let us entrust ourselves to him, ask him for the grace to be a reflection of his love for mankind. Let us entrust ourselves to him and be attentive to the different signs and messages that he sends us every day, within us or outside us through our fellow human beings.

difficult causes

Prayers for difficult causes are effective for complicated, desperate or difficult cases. Situations where all seems lost.

If you are going through complicated times, if you think you have already tried everything and your situation does not change, if everything seems to be going against you, try prayers for difficult cases. Pray with faith and fervour.

These prayers are usually attributed to certain saints whose intercession is infallible with God the Father or His Son Jesus Christ.

Whether it is under the intercession of St. Rita, St. Joseph, St. Anne, Padre Pio or other saints, testimonies are pouring in from people all over the world who have experienced the power of God through these prayers for difficult causes.

If you are living in difficult situations, if you have problems that you think are hopeless, if you are in despair over the unpredictable events of life, if you have searched for a long time but have not found what you were looking for, if you have lost the taste for life, try these prayers for difficult causes.

evening

Praying at night is a way of acting that every person should adopt on a daily basis. Evening prayers can be said before going to bed. The purpose is to thank God for the past day, ask forgiveness for shortcomings or sins and faults committed, ask for protection for the night, ask for graces and blessings to be better the next day.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is a central figure in Christianity. He is regarded as the incarnation of God.

The historical existence of Jesus is attested by archaeological research and by the accounts of Roman historians (Flavius Josephus, Tacitus, Suetonius).

At about the age of thirty, Jesus left Nazareth and began an itinerant public life. He calls his disciples and walks with them through Judea and Galilee. He teaches, he heals the sick, casts out demons, walks on water, forgives sins, raises the dead. He is attentive to children. He shares meals, a wedding party, pilgrimages to Jerusalem. He lives as a Jewish believer, goes to the synagogue, observes the Sabbath. He weeps, gets angry, experiences sadness, fatigue and thirst, compassion and even anguish. Jesus is known for his natural authority.

With all the miracles he performed, Jesus is the one to whom prayers should be addressed no matter what difficulties one faces.
