O Christ
You know how hard it is for me to make headway on the road,
you know how the enemies have raged against us.
You know, O my Saviour
how weak and ignorant I am as a man.
Am I not, it seems to me,
the least of all, the smallest of men?
Pour out your mercy on me this day, O King and my God!
O my Saviour
may your goodness make up for my deficiencies and shortcomings
may it make a whole man of me,
your witness who never lacks confidence!
May it raise me up today, your servant,
in your Presence, O Word made man.
Snatched by your power from the condemnation and reproaches of my adversaries,
may I sing King and Lord, O Christ the Master, Friend of men for ever and ever.
