Saint Adrian is invoked against contagious diseases.
Saint Adrian, unshakeable in his faith in Jesus Christ, was taken and thrown to the lions. But the lions came to lick his feet. Furious to see the beasts recognize in him the disciple of God, the executioners killed him with the sword, thus acquiring him in Heaven immortal glory.
Saint Adrian is particularly honored in Grammont.
INVOCATION
We unite with your holy Martyrs, O my God, to sing your praises, to bless you and to deserve their special protection for the salvation of our souls and for the health of our bodies. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Adrian, whom we invoke so effectively against contagious diseases, pray for us.
PRAYER
Your Blood, O Jesus! Produces in the faithful pilgrim the renunciation of the world and of all sensible pleasures: for the love which he finds in your blood destroys his self-esteem, and his conscience is like a tribunal from which he judges with the greater severity all his actions. By your most precious blood, Lord, forgive me my mistakes.
So be it.
