Saints for deceased
Protection of cemeteries and the dead, nocturnal spirits
Like a wise Virgin, you watch over the land of rest, Saint Radegundes. Like the Cross that you have preserved from the ungodly, preserve us in these days from the ungodly servants of darkness.
May no one be able to plot evil thoughts in the cemeteries of which you are the vigilant guardian.
Forbid evil spirits from tormenting the living; assign them rest and wait for God's judgment. Like a banner of victory, raise the Cross where the dead sleep, and through your intercession protect them from the torments of fire.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The prayer can be recited on a grave or it can be said 7 times in a row in the direction of the cemetery. The novena to Saint Radegundes is effective against wounds that do not heal.

Praying for a deceased person is asking that he or she may experience this passage of heavenly joy. Remember these words from Sacred Scripture: "It is a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be delivered from their sins" (2M 12:46).
